Description
Andrews Endowed Church of England Primary School, formerly known as Holybourne Free School, was built between 1721 and 1730. This two-storey building with an attic features five bays and is constructed of purple brick with red dressings, topped by a tiled roof that includes a central chimney. The ground floor has a central doorcase with a pediment, flanked by a single sash window on each side and a tripartite casement. Above the entrance, there is a small engraved brass panel that reads "Holybourn Free School Endowed by Mr Thomas Andrews Anno Domini 1719." A band runs along the first floor level, which contains three central sash windows and outer tripartite casements. The building is adorned with a moulded and bracketed wood cornice and has three dormer windows placed asymmetrically in the roof. There are significant modern extensions at the back of the school.
