Description
The Hatch Pit, formerly known as the Kings Head, is a building from the 18th and 19th centuries. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring a symmetrical main elevation on the north side with a layout of 2.3.2 windows. There is an eastern addition with two windows and a further one-storeyed extension. The roof is made of old tiles, hipped at the ends, with half hips above the slightly projecting sides and a central hipped dormer. The eaves have brick dentils. The front is made of painted bricks, while the red brickwork on the rest of the building is in Flemish bond. The upper walls are tile-hung at the rear and ends. The ground-floor openings in the centre are arched with keystones. The central windows are sashes in exposed frames, while the other windows are late casements. There is a modern gabled porch made of timber framing with glazing.
