Description
Monks Ford is a timber-framed house dating back to the 16th century, and incorporating modern additions. The house originally comprised 1.2.2 bays, with one half-bay enclosing a substantial chimney that includes a staircase on one side and the entrance on the other. The roof is thatched, with half-hips and modern hipped pantile roofing to extensions at each end. The timber frame is exposed, with painted brick infill and walling to the wings. The windows are casements, with one old cast-metal light. A boarded door is set within a solid frame, and the main entrance is sheltered by a modern thatched roof porch.
