Description

The Horse Gin Base at Lower Farm is a structure from the 18th century. It features a circular brick floor that is approximately 20 feet in diameter, with a central square depression designed for a post to which a horse would have been tethered. The area where the horse walked is made of a different color of brickwork. This base is notable for its rarity in Sussex and serves as an interesting reminder of an outdated method of power generation.
