Description
London House is a Grade II listed building located on the north side of High Street in Mayfield. The structure dates back to the early 17th century or earlier and features a timber-framed design with three gables, the central gable oversailing on a bressummer supported by brackets. Some sash windows have been added later, including one with pointed panes. The front of the building is from the 18th century and consists of two storeys with five windows. The ground floor is constructed of brick, while the upper floor is tile-hung, both featuring pointed elements. There is an eaves cornice and a tiled roof, with two bays on each floor and intact glazing bars. The doorway is adorned with fluted pilasters, a segmental fanlight, and a door with six fielded panels. At the west end of the ground floor, a modern plate glass window has been inserted.
