Description

- Built of flint with stone dressings. Tiled roof. Chancel, north chapel, south transept, nave with north aisle, north porch and west tower. Impressive medieval building, probably once the church of the Hospital of St Cross outside the west gate of Pevensey. The arcade of the nave, north aisle, north porch and tower, which are of stone and flints in chequer pattern, 1300 circa. Chancel C15. The nave has a fine timbered roof with crownposts at the west end and queenposts to the main portion. C15 stained glass in tracery heads of east window.
