Description

Old Oak House is a good example of a 15th-century timber-framed house situated on the south side of Westham High Street. The frame is close-studded with plaster infilling, and the first floor projects over the ends of the floor joists, supported by a bressummer and brackets. The roof has a steeply-pitched tiled hip. Casement windows are present throughout. Two first-floor windows retain their original wooden mullions. Ground-floor windows are oriels projecting on brackets and also have original wooden mullions. The house has two storeys and an attic with a single gabled dormer window. The east and west walls are tile-hung.
