Description
The stables located 100 meters west of Tanners Manor House date from the 18th century and were altered in the 19th century. They are constructed of red brick, featuring some burnt headers, and have tile roofs. The building is a simple rectangular shape with a small gabled projection on the west side. The ground floor contains four stalls, which are separated by partitions with turned end-posts. The floor beams from the former upper storey support a sling-brace roof that includes collars and butt purlins. The tile roof, likely from the 19th century, has an overhang with barge boards and features a small square louvre topped with a steep pyramidal roof. This straightforward structure has a picturesque appearance that complements the nearby Oast, which can be seen from Tanners Manor House.
