Description
Nos 33, 35, and 37 on High Street are two buildings with historical significance. The main part of the street frontage dates from the early 19th century and is two storeys high with four windows. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the upper floor is faced with weatherboarding and features a slate roof. The glazing bars are missing, and there is a modern shop front.
To the north west, behind the former Bassetts Stores, there is a recessed section that dates from the early 17th century or earlier. This part is also two storeys high with two windows. It is timber-framed but has been refaced with painted brick on the ground floor and tile-hung above. The roof is tiled, and it has casement windows on the first floor and a sash window on the ground floor, along with a doorway that has a flat hood.
