Description
The K6 telephone box, located adjacent to the Frant post office and store, is a standard design made of cast iron and painted red. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with crowns on the top panels that are applied rather than perforated, distinguishing it from the K2 model. The box has rectangular white display signs reading "TELEPHONE" beneath a shallow curved roof. Inside, it has modernised equipment, and while it retains most of its glass windows, the red paint is flaking in some areas.
Positioned at a village crossroads, the kiosk is immediately east of the village post office, which is also listed at Grade II. Its visual and contextual connection to the post office is highlighted by a tin sign reading "TELEPHONE" attached to the front. The kiosk has partial sight lines to The Limes, located 100 meters to the north-east, and a stronger visual relationship with the White House, situated 60 meters across the crossroads to the south-west.
