Description
The Heathfield Church of England Primary School, located in Old Heathfield village, dates to 1864 and was designed by the architect Phillip Webb. It is built in a simple Gothic style. The building is single-storied and constructed of red brick with grey brick headers, featuring a tiled roof. A gable faces the road, displaying a simple, unchamfered Gothic arch. Brick dripstone is present above the arch. Lean-to porches are positioned on both sides of the building. The front features a window with a central mullion and three transoms, with the original glazing bars intact. Stone lintels are above the doorways. Gables are situated at each end of the building, mirroring the design of the front window. Chimneys with offsets are present, and the right-hand gable incorporates a chimney rising from it. Sash windows are at the rear of the building.
