Description
Kidbrooke Park, also known as Michael Hall Rudolf Steiner School, is an 18th-century mansion that underwent alterations by Robert Mylne in 1804-1805 and by George Dance in 1814-1815. It was originally built for the Earl of Abergavenny during a time when Eridge Castle was in ruins and occupied by the Nevills until 1825. The building is constructed of square sandstone ashlar and features two storeys and an attic. It has five windows and two dormers across three fronts, with a cornice above each floor and a balustraded parapet. The roof is tiled, and the glazing bars are intact. Each front has a pediment with a ball cap at the apex, along with either a cartouche or an oval window in the tympanum. A large two-storey porch was added to the north end of the east front in the 19th century, along with later additions to the north.
