Description

Barelands Farmhouse is a timber-framed building, likely dating to the 16th or early 17th century, located in Frant. The east front has been altered; the south end of the ground floor is now faced with painted brick, while the upper portion is tile-hung. A gable with bargeboards and a pendant overhangs the north end of the east front, supported by a carved bressumer and bracket. The roof is tiled. Casement windows are present throughout. A 19th-century gabled hood shelters the doorway. The house is two storeys high with an attic within the gable, and has four windows.
