Description
Diamonds Farm Barn is a barn dating from the 16th century or possibly earlier. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding, some wattle and daub, and a steeply pitched corrugated iron roof that is hipped at both ends. The barn consists of three bays and two storeys, with flooring at the level of the middle rail. The walls at the upper level have down braces, and the tie beams are supported by arch braces, which in turn support simply chamfered crown posts. These crown posts have quadrant braces to the collar purlin and one down brace on opposite sides to the tie beam. The barn also has broad, flat rafters. It is noted as a rare survival in Sussex.
