Description
The Glebe House, originally the Rectory, is a large house with an irregular plan. The older sections are on the west half, which forms a double L shape. This part dates from the 17th century or earlier and is timber-framed, later refaced in the 18th century with red brick and grey headers on the ground floor, while the upper part is tile-hung. The house has a tiled roof and features sash windows with Gothic panes that were added around 1820. The western arm includes a pentagonal bay on both floors. An early 19th-century addition to the north consists of one window in red brick and grey headers, topped with a gable featuring scalloped barge-boards. The house has two storeys and four windows. A significant addition in red brick was constructed to the west in 1864.
