Description

Iridge Place is a large 18th-century house built on the site of an earlier structure. It is a two-storey building with an attic, displaying nine windows across its facade. The house is constructed of painted brick, with the central portion projecting forward to incorporate an attic storey of three windows and a pediment above. One dormer window is located on each flanking side. A cornice and balustrade parapet runs along the roofline, which is covered in slate. The original glazing bars remain intact in the windows. A later addition is a stuccoed porch, ornamented with Doric pilasters, a cornice, and a blocking course. The interior of the house is of good quality. The group value of Iridge Place stems from its architectural significance and contribution to the character of the area.
