Description
Holly Cottage is a house likely built in the late 18th century, with an early to mid-19th century addition and 20th century alterations. The front and right side are covered in weatherboard on a late 20th century plinth, while the left side is rendered. The rear is constructed of red brick in Flemish garden wall bond, topped with a plain tile roof. The house has two storeys and three bays, with a parallel 19th century range added to the rear under a separate roof.
On the garden front, there is a central 20th century board door beneath a bracketed tile canopy. Above the door is a two-light window, and on each floor, there are three-light windows flanking the door, all featuring small-sized 20th century wooden casements. There are external stacks at the left end and one on the ridge to the right of the entrance.
At the rear, there is a step up to a central board door, with a fixed nine-pane window to the left and a three-light small-pane 20th century wooden casement window to the right. On the first floor, there are two similar windows, and all ground-floor openings have segmental brick arches. There is a stack at the right end. Inside, the front range features large brick fireplaces with timber bressummers.
