Description
The United Reformed Church, dated 1881, was designed by architect Thomas Elworthy of St Leonards. This striking example of a Non-Conformist church showcases a classical style and is built over two storeys with four windows. The church is constructed of red brick, featuring a stone cornice above each floor, a parapet, and a prominent doorway. Brick pilasters frame the front, and there is a brick pediment within the parapet. The round-headed casement windows are adorned with semi-circular fanlights. The entrance is particularly notable, with an enriched doorway that includes pilasters, a projecting cornice topped with urns, a semi-circular fanlight, and double doors made up of six moulded panels.
