Description

Chasmead and Cleve Cottage form a row of cottages, dating back to the 18th century, with later additions in the early 19th century. Originally four cottages, they are now used as two separate dwellings. The front range of the cottages is from the 18th century, with painted brick on the ground floor and weatherboarding on the first floor. The rear range is built of red brick, dating to the early 19th century. The roofs are tiled and there are four brick chimney stacks. The cottages have two storeys and five windows. Cleve Cottage retains windows from the early 19th century, consisting of metal casements. Two Mill Terrace has modern UPVC windows and a door, and Chasmead also has modern UPVC windows and a door. Cleve Cottage includes a side lean-to extension, and Chasmead has a 20th-century extension with a casement window and door.
