Description

Mount Pleasant is a farmhouse and cottage dating to circa 1830-40. The structure is timber-framed, with weatherboarding to the front and back, and tile hanging using alternating courses of plain and scalloped tiles on the right side. The left side is constructed of brick in a Sussex bond, all resting on a red brick plinth. The roof is hipped and slate-covered, with four cemented stacks.

The front facade is two storeys high with three windows, featuring 16-pane sashes. A mid-19th century, weatherboarded, gabled porch projects centrally, and has been incorporated into the interior, now containing a window in place of a doorway. The rear elevation includes a projecting wing to the left. It has four 16-pane sashes on the first floor and three casements on the ground floor.

Internally, the farmhouse retains a wooden fireplace with reeded pilasters and paterae. The eaves are defined by a cornice, the slate roof is hipped, and the glazing bars in the windows remain intact.
