Description
Court Lodge Farmhouse is an L-shaped house from the early 17th century, resembling Deer Park Cottage and Church Farm, suggesting it was designed by the same architect or builder. The main front faces east and features red brick on an ashlar base, with long and short stone quoins and a stringcourse. It has a tiled roof and a gabled brick porch with a round-headed stone archway, along with a gable on the east wing. The house has casement windows with diamond-shaped leaded panes; the two ground floor windows have two tiers of five lights with stone mullions. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic in the gable and has four windows.
The west front is made of ashlar and includes a gable at the south end, beneath which are two windows with two tiers of five lights, some of which are blocked. There are two ashlar chimney breasts, each featuring two diagonally-set brick stacks, and a blocked four-centred stone doorway. The south front has a brick chimney breast with three diagonally-set brick stacks and several blocked windows scattered around the house. The interior, which was once well-appointed, was largely destroyed by fire in 1948.
