Description

The dovecote located southeast of Chyngton House is probably from the 17th or 18th century or even earlier. It is constructed of flint with stone quoins, although some of the quoins have been replaced with brick. The structure has a square plan and appears somewhat squat. It features a new hipped roof covered with tiles, which includes a hipped lantern that has dove-escapes beneath its eaves. Inside, there are approximately six hundred nesting spaces made of chalk.
