Description
The King's Head Public House is an early 19th-century building located on Courthouse Street. It features a stuccoed exterior and a low-pitched hipped roof covered with new interlocking tiles. The structure has three storeys and includes one window on the front facade. The first and second floors have sash windows with side lights and no glazing bars, while the ground floor has a plate-glass bar window topped with a modern fascia board that extends over the corner doorway, which is adorned with a narrow rectangular fanlight. On the right-hand return facing The Bourne, there are two widely spaced sash windows with glazing bars in moulded cases on the upper floors, while the ground floor has no glazing bars and features a modern central door. The King's Head is part of a group that includes Nos 9, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, and 25, with Nos 19 and 23 being of local interest only.
