Description

Linford Lodge is a house, now used as a restaurant, dating back to the 18th century, with earlier fabric incorporated into its structure and altered over time. The house is constructed of rubble stone, with old tiles covering the south wing and pantiles on the east wing, and features brick chimneys. It has an L-shaped plan, with two storeys and an attic. The south wing is the earlier section, featuring two modern dormers, and a south-facing front with four two-light upper casement windows. The east front includes a gable on the left-hand side, a 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor, and a three-light casement window above. The right-hand part of the building is the 18th-century wing, with two bays of sash windows and a central six-panelled door set within a Doric porch supported by slender columns. The property was formerly known as Ivy House, as indicated on Ordnance Survey maps.
