Description

This is a headstone located approximately 5 meters southeast of another item on the High Street in Brading. It dates from the mid-18th century and is designed in the Rococo style. The headstone features a curved top adorned with carved drapery, which is held by two angels. The drapery parts to reveal a hand blowing a trumpet, intended to resurrect a skeleton that lies on a coffin, which is flanked by flaming urns. The inscription panel is curved but was illegible at the time of the survey.
