Description

The Sower is a bronze statue created in 1886 by Sir William Hamo Thornycroft, located in the Royal Botanic Gardens. The statue is set on a Portland stone base and depicts a male figure dressed in a shirt, trousers, and leggings, striding forward over furrowed earth while carrying a basket from which he scatters seed. This statue was cast in bronze posthumously.
