Description

The Abercorn Arms is an 18th-century public house constructed of red brick. It is situated at an angle to the road. The building is two and a half storeys high. The front facing the road has three sash windows, with the ground floor windows being three-light and incorporating glazing bars. A painted, plain-coped parapet tops the building. A gable facing the street forms a pediment with a lunette. The street-facing front also has three sash windows with glazing bars, and a central arched doorway featuring a radial-bar fan. A rudimentary verandah is present. A ground-floor window on the left-hand side has been altered to create a bay window, likely at the same time as an Edwardian two-storey and three-bay addition was made to the rear; this later addition is not of special interest.
