Description
The New Parish Church of St Andrew, built between 1844 and 1847, is an important example of 19th-century architecture designed by architect S. Daukes, with sculptural work on the reredos by Redfern. The church features a nave with a clerestory, a south aisle, and a porch, along with a three-stage north-west tower topped by a spire. Constructed from rubble with freestone dressings and slate roofs, it includes a ceiling, chancel screen, pulpit, and reredos designed by Street. There is a wall monument created by Burges, a lectern by Butterfield, and a font cover by Pearson. The church was relocated from Wells Street, W1 in 1933.
