Description

These are a pair of gatepiers located between numbers 5/5A and 6/6A Old St Andrew's Mansions, designed in 1936 by E G Trobridge. They are made of brick and have a lozenge shape with stepped tops, angled towards the alleyway of St Andrew's Mansions. The design of the gatepiers is reminiscent of the chimney tops of numbers 1/1A to 7/7A St Andrew's Mansions and adds to the overall quality of this group, which is considered Trobridge's best surviving group of flats.
