Description

The Marks Stones, located on the east side of the road north of Eastern Avenue and set in a hedge, are boundary markers of the Liberty of Havering-atte-Bower, originally established in 1642. There are two stones: one is 12 inches high and inscribed with 'MARKS STONE', while the other is 30 inches high and bears the inscription 'MARKS STONE SEPT 1642'.
