Description
No 1 Charing Cross Road is an end of terrace corner house built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stock brick with stucco dressings and a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a sheer attic, featuring three windows across the front with a two-window return to Orange Street. The ground floor has an altered shop front, while the upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes set in stucco architraves, with cornices above the first floor windows. There are also cornices above the ground and second floors, as well as an attic cornice and parapet. The right-hand windows on the Orange Street return are blind.
