Description

This is a row of six houses, numbered 17 to 25, located on the west side of Montpelier Square in London. They were built in the early to mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stock brick, with the ground floor finished in channelled stucco. They are four storeys high, with a basement, and number 22 has an attic within a mansard roof. Each house has two windows across its front. The entrances are located on the right side, returning to number 25. Doorways and ground-floor windows are framed by round-headed reveals. The doors are panelled. Upper-floor windows are mainly sash windows with glazing bars, set within stucco architraves. A continuous cast iron balcony runs along the first floor. The ground-floor window of number 17 has been altered. A stucco cornice sits above the parapet. Cast iron area railings are present. The houses form part of a larger group of buildings around Montpelier Square and possess group value.
