Description

The forecourt railings, gates, and guardhouses to Horse Guards were built around 1750-1760 and are part of the overall design by Kent, executed by Vardy and Robinson. They are made of Portland stone and wrought iron. The tall railings feature clustered spike gate piers and gates, which are flanked by two stone pavilions that serve as mounted guardhouses, each with large semicircular archways.
