Description

This is a row of houses located in Montpelier Square, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are built of stock brick with stucco dressings. The ground floor features channelled stucco. The buildings are four storeys high with a basement, and Nos. 29, 30, 31, and 35 have a mansard attic. Each house has two windows across the front. Nos. 28 and 35 project slightly forward, featuring rusticated quoins and arched entrances; other entrances are square-headed and have various panelled doors. The windows are square-headed and have stucco architraves, with cornices above the first and second-floor windows. Window types vary, including sashes, casements, and glazing bars. A continuous cast iron balcony is present on the first floor, along with a cornice and a balustraded parapet. Area railings are also present. The buildings form part of a group comprising the rest of Montpelier Square.
