Description

A mews block dating from the mid-19th century is located in Rutland Gardens, City of Westminster. The building is constructed of yellow brick, with a roof that is not visible. It is two storeys high and extends eight windows wide along Rutland Gardens. The bays are delineated by rusticated pilasters in fine yellow brick. The windows have square heads; the ground floor window surrounds are stucco, while those on the first floor have gauged heads. The windows are sash windows with plate glass. The right-hand side of the facade has been painted and reglazed with casement windows, and shutters have been added. A modillion cornice, made of painted stone or stucco, runs along the top, surmounted by a parapet. The return on the left side features a recessed central rusticated archway, with similar architectural treatment. The corners are rounded.
