Description
Queens House is a house built in 1717, with alterations to its front. It has three storeys, a basement, and dormers, featuring seven windows, including a three-window splayed bay added at the first and second floors. The building is constructed of brown brick, with rusticated brick piers on the sides. It has a dentil cornice and a pediment above the central five windows on the second floor, along with a moulded brick band at that level. The ground floor has arched openings that are linked by a moulded band at the springing. The upper floor windows have segmental arches, each with keystones. A tablet on the building commemorates the residence of the poets Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Algernon Charles Swinburne.
