Description

This is an early 19th century terrace comprised of numbers 2 to 16, Queensbridge Road. The terrace consists of twelve buildings, each three storeys high with a basement, and originally featuring two windows apiece. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with a parapet, although number 16 has undergone some rebuilding. The basements are stuccoed, and a projecting band runs along the first-floor cill level. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within stucco-lined reveals, each with a gauged flat brick arch above. First-floor windows extend the full length and are accompanied by cast iron balconies featuring a gothic arched pattern. A run of four steps, featuring wrought iron handrails, leads to a six-panel front door, set within a reeded architrave detailed with paterae at the angles. Each entrance is topped with a fanlight, some of which are patterned, and set under a round, gauged brick arch. Cast iron area railings are present on all but number 10; some are empty or boarded up. Numbers 2 to 16 form a cohesive group.
