Description

KINGSLAND ROAD E2 1. 5013 (West Side) ----------------- St Columba's Vicarage, with link to Church TQ 3383 30/298 GV

  1. 1873-4. Red brick buildings with stone dressings and Welsh slate roofs of tremendously high pitch. The 2-bay link building, with passage through to courtyard behind, is mainly a huge roof with 2 hipped gabled dormers. The vicarage, an irregular building of 2 storeys, attic and basement, has 2 wide bays, the right under hipped gable. A tall, glazed attic rises from ridge and has high pyramidal roof. Similar roof to tall dormers. Grouped lancet windows, some with cusped heads. Walls banded with stone and moulded brick. Back view shows round tower, with conical roof, behind link. Similar 2-bay north return.

The Church of St Columba, the Vicarage and link building, the forecourt railings and the Sisters' House and School form a group.
