Description

The Cockpit Public House is a building dating from around 1860. It is constructed of brick with stucco quoins, bands, and window surrounds. The structure has three storeys and a triangular plan with a rounded corner. The ground floor features a pub front with leaded windows, tapering pilasters, and low clerestorey windows above. The first-floor windows are mullioned and transomed casements. On the second floor, there is a cill band supported by brackets, and a crowning cornice on a corbel table. The building has a brick parapet with a pierced strapwork balustrade and a shaped gable over the rounded corner. It also features octagonal chimney stacks.
