Description

The retaining wall and gate piers at the frontage of numbers 1-10 Cambridge Gate were built between 1875 and 1880. The wall was designed by T Archer and A Green and is constructed from stone blocks with a coping that once supported railings. At both the north and south ends of the wall, there are gate piers topped with four terracotta statuary groups representing the "Three Graces," created by Joseph Kremer and made by the Coalbrookdale Company. The structure is inscribed with the name "Cambridge Gate."
