Description
Bridge House is a former rectory, originally built in the 16th century with a timber-framed and plastered structure arranged in an L-shaped plan. The house was refronted in the 19th century and features two storeys with attics. Most windows are late 19th-century casements, but the southeast front includes early 19th-century windows with "gothic" arched lights. The gable at the southwest end showcases an early 19th-century shaped bargeboard. Some windows have traceried panels that were taken from the 15th-century chancel screen of the church. Inside, there is a well-crafted moulded beam and joist ceiling, along with a fireplace beam that has some carving. The roof is tiled and includes three gabled dormers on the front. Bridge House, the Church of St Margaret, and No 1 form a group.
