Description
Jacobites is a house, originally built around 1600 and later extended and altered in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is plastered, with a thatched roof and pantiles on the additions. The building has a two-cell plan, likely with a lobby entrance originally, and is one storey with an attic.
At the center, there is a small three-light casement window with a hoodboard, which probably replaced the original entrance. This is flanked by 20th-century two and three-light casements, while above, there are earlier two and three-light glazing bar casements, with the larger one on the left. Above the eaves, there are two further lights for each cell. The house has a central axial ridge stack.
To the right, there is a one-storey addition that includes a part-glazed boarded door, while the right end gable is weatherboarded and features a two-light attic casement. The one-storey addition on the left has two and three-light glazing bar casements and an extruded end stack.
Inside, the property has stop-chamfered axial binding beams and stairs located in front of the stack. The first floor features reverse curved arched bracing in the walling at angles and cambered collars with clasp purlins.
