Description

Maltings Cottage is a house dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, with a 20th-century flat-roofed extension to the north. The original timber frame is now encased in colourwashed brickwork. The roof is covered with concrete tiles and features a red brick stack along the ridge. The house has a lobby entrance and outshuts. It is two storeys high with scattered window openings; these are 20th-century casements with glazing bars set within segmental brick arches. A 20th-century boarded door provides the entrance. The gable facing the road has one window and a projecting red brick feature extending to first-floor level, which connects with the garden wall. A plat band runs along the facade. Inside, the frame includes stopped-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
