Description

Lynn’s Hall is a manor house, likely originally dating from the 15th to 16th centuries, but substantially rebuilt or altered during the 16th and 17th centuries. Tradition suggests it was built by a prosperous clothier. The house is timber-framed and rendered with plaster, arranged in an L-shaped plan with wings extending north and west, covered by a tiled roof. The north wing may contain elements of the earlier structure. It is two storeys high, with the upper storey of the south front projecting as a jetty. The upper storey of the west wing (four bays wide) appears to have originally been open to the roof. The south front has a four-window range of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. There is one ridge chimney stack, and an external stack at the east end.
