Description

Kersey Vale Farmhouse is a late 15th century or early 16th century open hall house featuring contemporary crossings that create an H plan. The hall was floored, and a central stack was added in the late 16th century. The farmhouse has a tiled roof with gabled wings, a two-multi front brick stack on the ridge, and shouldered brick stacks on the outside of the north crosswing. It is timber framed, with early 20th century brick refacing. The early 20th century windows and doorway have segmented arched openings. Inside, the original fireplace with a mantle beam and ceiling beams are preserved. The south crosswing retains its original crown post roof, while the other roofs were remodeled in the 17th century.
