Description

The buildings at 124 and 126 High Street likely date to the 16th century, with later alterations. They are timber-framed structures with plastered walls, covered in colourwashed pebble-dash, and have tiled roofs. A cross wing projects at the south end, featuring a projecting upper storey. Number 126 has an old rectangular chimney stack. The upper windows are old leaded casements, with 4, 3, and 2 lights respectively. The ground floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars. A bay window has been built under the projecting upper storey at the south end of Number 124, and another bay window to Number 126 has a modillion cornice. There are two entrances: one to Number 124, centrally located on the right-hand side, and one to Number 126, centrally located on the left-hand side, opposite the chimney stack. Photographs are held by the National Monuments Record.
