Description
The Church of St Mary Magdalene is a parish church located in Pulham Market, primarily dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. It is constructed of flint and features slate and pantile roofs. The church comprises a nave with a clerestory, a chancel, north and south aisles, a north porch, and a large west tower. The tower is notable for its four stages, adorned with flushwork panelling on the battlements, buttresses, and base. The windows in the aisles and clerestory are in the Perpendicular style. The north porch also features flushwork panelling. The chancel windows have been renewed. Inside, there are five bay arcades, a 15th-century nave roof with arched braces and collar-beams, and the east bay of the nave roof is panelled with restored colour decoration. The aisle roofs from the 15th century also have arched braces. Additionally, there is a 15th-century screen in the tower arch and stone bench ends from the same period.
