Description
Fersfield Rectory is a 17th-century house featuring a plastered timber frame that is partly faced with brick. It has a steep tiled roof with gabled ends and consists of two storeys plus an attic, which includes an attic window in the gable end. The building has four windows and a central two-storey gabled porch that contains a horizontal sliding sash with glazing bars and a fielded panel door set within a shouldered architrave, topped by a cornice. The windows are all sashes with glazing bars. A central brick chimney stack is present, and at the south end, there is an early 19th-century splayed bay with sashes. The rear of the house features a gabled two-storey wing that is also plastered, with a steep tiled roof. This wing includes 18th-century mullion transom casements with leaded panes, as well as a one-storey and attic extension that has gabled dormers and additional mullion/transom casements with leaded panes. Inside, there is a chamfered beam in the upper north front room.
