Description
The Church of St Andrew in Frenze is an early 14th-century building featuring a nave without a chancel. At the west end of the nave, there is a modern bellcote. The nave windows from the early 14th century include two-light windows on the south and west sides with Y-tracery and cusped heads, while the north and east windows have two and three lights respectively, adorned with reticulated tracery.
The south porch, built in the early 16th century, is made of brick and includes diagonal buttresses, a later gable facing, and two-light side windows with brick mullions and four-centred arch heads. Inside, there is a large pulpit from the early 17th century, featuring a back panel and a polygonal tester with pendants. The church also contains an early 17th-century manorial box pew, several 15th-century benches—one with a traceried front and ends with poppy-heads—and a 14th-century octagonal font with flat traceried sides. Additionally, there are several brasses from the late 15th and early 16th centuries.
