Description
Pecks Farm Cottages, also known as the Grange Cottages, are a pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the mid to late 17th century. The cottages are constructed with rough-cast over a timber frame and feature a steep gabled pantile roof. A central 17th-century brick ridge stack is finished in early 20th-century brick. The buildings are two storeys high and have a three-window range, with 20th-century doors and casements.
Inside, the cottages have chamfered beams on the ground floor and exposed timber framing, which includes arch-bracing to the wall frames and to the tie-beams of the collar-truss roof with butt purlins. There are 17th-century winder stairs leading from the first floor to the attic at the rear of the stack, and the attic retains 17th-century floorboards. The cottages are noted for their group value.
